Galatians 1: 6 and 7
September 9, 2008
6 I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Christ. You are already following a different way
7 that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ.
- New Living Translation
7 You think your way is the Good News, but it is actually the Bad News. You are a fool leading others fools to hell with you because going to church is the only way to know the truth concerning Christ.

Galatians 1: 11 and 12

Galatians 2: 3 through 6
July 14, 2008
4 Even that question wouldn’t have come up except for some so-called Christians there-false ones, really -who came to spy on us and see our freedom in Christ Jesus. They wanted to force us, like slaves, to follow their Jewish regulations.
5 But we refused to listen to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the Good News for you.
6 And the leaders of the church who were there had nothing to add to what I was preaching. (By the way, their reputation as great leaders made no difference to me, for God has no favorites.)
- New Living Translation
3 And they didn’t agree. They demanded that my companion Titus adopt the doctrines of their denomination to be accepted, even though he was obviously already a Christian.
4 The issue only came up because some so-called Christians there-false ones really came to try and make us be just like them. They wanted to force us, like slaves, to follow their denominational doctrines, rules, and regulations even though we already have all those in our church.
5 When we refused to listen they told us they hold the only accurate interpretation of the Good News. They said any other interpretation was not the truth and would send us to hell.
6 And the leaders of their church who were there could not persuade me even though they claimed to be great, holy, and Godly men. It meant nothing to me, because my preacher is greater, holier, and Godlier. I follow my preacher because he is God’s favorite, and that means he has all the answers.

Galatians 5: 22 and 23
July 10, 2008
23 Here there is no conflict with the law.
- New Living Translation
22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives as defined by our church, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: church attendance, perfect doctrine, pastoral and denominational loyalty, judgmental attitudes, and conservative Republican politics among other things.
23 Here there is no conflict with the law because when the church tells us how the Holy Spirit controls our lives we will live by more laws, rules, and regulations than we ever knew existed.
